View of the L.A. Basin at Sunset: The Wilderness City
First photo of the New Year, and one of a new series of images I caught on a visit to Griffith Observatory toward the end of last year.
Los Angeles is a major city, up against the California wilderness with more than 4 million people cohabitating with a variety of wildlife including bears, deer, mountain lions, rattlesnakes, migratory birds the only North American marsupial, the opossum, raccoons and rats. Los Angeles is situated between the sea and the mountains and is subject to extreme heat (and in higher elevations, extreme cold), earthquakes, fires, floods and winds.
